Turbocharger Turbine Bypass Actuator Lubrication

NOTE:
Do NOT
remove the turbocharger assembly from the vehicle to complete this process.
- Remove the turbocharger heatshield(s) to gain access to the turbocharger turbine bypass actuator arm linkage and pins. Refer to: TURBOCHARGER .
And follow steps for heatshield removalNOTE:
- Jaguar Land Rover approved anti-squeak grease is required for this step.
- For Land Rover vehicles use part number - LR164809 - Do NOT use any other grease or lubricant.
- For Jaguar vehicles use part number - JDE41322 - Do NOT use any other grease or lubricant.
- Do NOT remove the turbocharger turbine bypass actuator arm linkage from the turbocharger to apply grease.
- Refer to the images below and apply the Jaguar Land Rover approved anti-squeak grease to the turbocharger turbine bypass actuator arm linkage and pins as shown. A maximum of 2 drops of grease should be applied to each circlip hole
- After applying the anti-squeak grease to the areas indicated, the turbocharger must be left for 2 minutes. This is to make sure the grease has full diffusion between the actuator arm linkage and pins
- Actuate the turbocharger 3 times to make sure the grease is distributed adequately between the actuator arm linkage and pins
- Re-install the turbocharger heatshield(s). Refer to: TURBOCHARGER . And follow steps for heatshield installation
