Turbocharger (G2006271): Overview

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

The Ingenium 2.0L Petrol engine is equipped with a fixed vane turbocharger.

The turbocharger consists of two elements; a turbine and a compressor. These elements are enclosed separately in cast housings and mounted on a common shaft, which rotates in ball bearings.

The turbocharger cooling is achieved using engine oil to allow it to maintain the optimum operating temperature and protect the bearings from overheating.

To control the charge air pressure of the turbocharger there are a turbine bypass control actuator and an external compressor bypass valve installed within the turbocharger system.
