Fuel Charging And Controls - V8 S/C 5.0L Petrol (G2318509): Overview
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Velar. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
The fuel charging and controls system is a gasoline Direct Injection (DI) system controlled by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM).
The fuel charging and controls system consists of:
- Low Pressure (LP) and High Pressure (HP) fuel lines.
- HP fuel pumps (quantity 2).
- fuel rails and a cross-over pipe (quantity 2).
- A Fuel Rail Pressure and Temperature (FRPT) sensor.
- Fuel injectors (quantity 8).
LP fuel from the pump in the fuel tank is pressurized by the HP fuel pumps. The HP fuel pumps supplied the fuel injectors via the fuel rails and cross-over pipe. The PCM controls the fuel injectors and HP fuel pumps to inject the required volume of fuel into the combustion chambers.
