Electric Cooling Fan And Shroud (G2244103): Removal

WARNING:
Be prepared to collect escaping coolant.
NOTE:
- This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending on the vehicle specification, but the essential information is always correct.
- This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.
- Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.
Refer to: LIFTING
- Disconnect the startup battery ground cable.
Refer to: STARTUP BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT
- Remove the left air filter housing.
Refer to: LEFT AIR FILTER HOUSING
- Remove the right air filter housing.
Refer to: RIGHT AIR FILTER HOUSING
- Remove the air filter outlet pipe T-connector.
Refer to: AIR FILTER OUTLET PIPE T-CONNECTOR
- Drain the cooling system.
Refer to: COOLING SYSTEM PARTIAL DRAINING AND VACUUM FILLING
- Disconnect the right lower coolant hose.
- Release the 2 hose retaining clips.
Disconnect the lower coolant hose from the cooling module.
Disconnect the electric coolant pump electrical connector.
- Disconnect the electric coolant pump hose from the cooling module.
- Release the hose from the clip.
- Remove the bolt.
- Release the electric coolant pump from the bracket.
Release the coolant hoses from the 4 clips.

NOTE: If equipped.
Disconnect the upper bypass pipe from the cooling module.
- Remove the 4 fasteners.
- Remove the intake air duct.
- Remove the 4 bolts.
- Remove the 2 main radiator mounting brackets.
Disconnect the electric coolant pump electrical connector.
Disconnect the electric cooling fan electrical connector.
- Remove the 4 bolts.
- Remove the 2 secondary brackets.
Release the electric cooling fan shroud from the 4 clips.
Remove the electric cooling fan shroud from the cooling module.

NOTE: Do not disassemble further if the component is removed for access only.
- Release the 4 clips.
- Remove the wiring harness.
