Oil Cooler (G2244086): Removal

NOTE:

  • This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending on the vehicle specification, but the essential information is always correct.
  1. Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.

    Refer to: LIFTING .

  2. Disconnect the startup battery ground cable.

    Refer to: STARTUP BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT .

  3. Remove the supercharger.

    Refer to: SUPERCHARGER .

    Disconnect the 4 electrical connectors.

    • Release the 5 wiring harness clips.
    • Reposition the wiring harness away from the oil cooler.
  6. WARNING:
    • Be prepared to collect escaping oil.
    • Be prepared to collect escaping coolant.

    Remove the 18 bolts from the oil cooler.

    • Release the coolant pipe connector.
    • Remove the oil cooler from the vehicle following the illustrated sequence.
    • Remove and discard the oil cooler gasket.
  8. NOTE: Note the fitted position of the component prior to removal.

    • Remove the coolant pipe connector.
    • Remove and discard the coolant pipe connector O-ring seals.
