Left Exhaust Manifold (G2263554): Installation

CAUTION:
- Make sure the anti-seize compound does not contact the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) tip.
- If accidentally dropped or knocked install a new sensor.
NOTE: If the original sensor is to be installed, apply lubricant meeting specification ESE-M12A4-A to the thread of the sensor.
- Using the special tool, install the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S).
  Special Tool(s): 310-121
  
  Torque : 45 Nm

- Install the special tool.
  Special Tool(s): 303-1444-01
- Install a new exhaust manifold gasket.
  Renew Part: Exhaust manifold gasket Quantity: 1 .
- Install the left exhaust manifold.
NOTE: If a new cylinder head is installed use the special tools in the illustration.

- Install the special tool.
  Special Tool(s): 303-1444-02
- Install a new exhaust manifold gasket.
- Install the left side exhaust manifold.
NOTE: Make sure that the components are installed to the noted removal position.

- Install the 6 spacers.
- Install and tighten the 6 bolts in the sequence illustrated.
  Renew Part: Exhaust manifold bolts Quantity: 6 .
  
  Torque : 10 Nm
Remove the special tool.
Remove the Special Tool(s): 303-1444-01 , 303-1444-02

- Install and tighten the 2 bolts in the sequence illustrated.
  Renew Part: Exhaust manifold bolts Quantity: 2 .
  
  Torque : 10 Nm

- Tighten the 8 bolts in the sequence illustrated.
  Torque : 18 Nm
Install the exhaust manifold heatshield.
Torque

M6: 3 Nm

M8: 25 Nm
- Secure the 3 clips.
- Connect the HO2S electrical connector.
- Install a new Gasoline Particulate Filter (GPF) pipe.
  Renew Part: Gasoline Particulate Filter (GPF) to exhaust manifold pipe Quantity: 1 .
- Secure the hose clamp.
- Install and tighten the bolt.
  Torque : 48 Nm
Install the Air Conditioning (A/C) compressor.
Refer to: AIR CONDITIONING COMPRESSOR - V8 S/C 5.0L PETROL (G2811903) .
Install the left catalytic converter.
Refer to: LEFT CATALYTIC CONVERTER .
Connect the startup battery ground cable.
Refer to: STARTUP BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT .
