Left Engine Mount (G2318613): Installation

  1. Install the left engine mount.
  2. WARNING: Make sure the engine is properly located on the engine mounts.

    Lower the engine.

    General Equipment: Transmission jack 

  3. CAUTION: Only tighten the nuts and bolt finger-tight at this stage.
    NOTE: Rest Of World (ROW) vehicles only.
    • Install the 2 left engine mount bolts.
    • Install the left engine mount nut.
  4. CAUTION:
    • Only tighten the nuts and bolt finger-tight at this stage.
    • Make sure the component is installed in the noted position.
    NOTE: North American Specification (NAS) vehicles only.
    • Install the mass damper to the left engine mount.
    • Install the 2 left engine mount bolts.
    • Install the left engine mount nut.
  5. CAUTION: Only tighten the nut finger-tight at this stage.

    Install the right engine mount nut.

    • Install the Air Conditioning (A/C) compressor.
    • Install and tighten the 3 bolts.

      Torque  : 25 Nm 

    • Connect the A/C compressor electrical connector.
    • Secure the wiring harness clip.
  8. CAUTION: Make sure that the accessory drive belt is correctly routed around all of the pulleys.

    Install the accessory drive belt.

    • Install the automatic transmission fluid cooler bracket.
    • Install and tighten the 2 bolts.

      Torque  : 5 Nm 

    • Install the automatic transmission fluid cooler.
    • Install and tighten the bolt.

      Torque  : 5 Nm 

  10. CAUTION: Make sure that the mass damper and the bracket re-install position is back to original nominal position. Nominal position of the mass damper to the left side member is 9 mm. Acceptable inboard variance is +2 mm (towards to the engine block). Acceptable outboard variance is -3 mm (towards to the left side member).
    NOTE:
    • Always measure gap to the side member. Make sure that the mass damper block back surface is parallel to left side member surface.
    • NAS vehicles only.

    • Check and adjust the position of the mass damper and bracket assembly.
    • Fully tighten the rear left engine mount bolt.

      Torque  : 47.5 Nm 

  11. NOTE: NAS vehicles only.
    • Fully tighten the front left engine mount bolt.

      Torque  : 47.5 Nm 

    • Fully tighten the engine mount nut at both sides.

      Torque  : 60 Nm 

  12. CAUTION: Make sure that the mass damper stays in the original nominal position.
    NOTE: NAS vehicles only.

    Complete a torque over check on the bolt.

    Torque  : 10 Nm 

  13. NOTE: Rest Of World (ROW) vehicles only.
    • Fully tighten the 2 left engine mount bolts.

      Torque  : 47.5 Nm 

    • Fully tighten the engine mount nut at both sides.

      Torque  : 60 Nm 

  14. Install the engine undershield.

    Refer to: ENGINE UNDERSHIELD .

  15. Connect the startup battery ground cable.

    Refer to: STARTUP BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT .
