Active Exhaust System

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Velar. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The active exhaust system allows exhaust gases to bypass the rear silencer to produce a more sporty exhaust sound during performance driving.

The active exhaust system comprises:

The operation of the active exhaust system is controlled by the PCM  . The PCM  sends a Pulse Width Modulated (PWM) signal to the actuators through the AEM to set the required valve position.

The AEM monitors the PWM  signal but does not control or change the signal.

The exhaust valve position is variable between the open and closed position.

The PCM  determines the exhaust valve position according to various engine operating conditions.
