Electric Park Brake Service Mode Activation And Deactivation (G2951240): Activation

CAUTION:
  • All Electric Park Brake (EPB) apply/releases are inhibited while in this mode. Do not drive the vehicle in this condition. Failure to follow this instruction may cause personal injury.
  • This procedure requires the vehicle in the Park position, with the ignition switched ON (the engine must be OFF) and the parking brake system applied.
  • When the rear brake pads or brake discs have been installed, the Service Mode must be canceled.
NOTE: This procedure allows the parking brake to be released when removing and installing new rear brake pads or brake discs.
  1. Press and HOLD  the transmission park button.
  2. Wait one second.
  3. Fully press and HOLD  the accelerator pedal.
  4. Wait one second.
  5. Switch the ignition OFF  .
  6. Wait one second.
  7. Switch the ignition ON  .
    NOTE: An audible noise will be heard, a 'Park Brake in Maintenance Mode'  message, and the yellow park brake warning light will be visible on the instrument panel cluster when the parking brake service mode is ACTIVATED  .
  8. Release the accelerator pedal and transmission park button.
