Electric Park Brake Release When The Vehicle Has No Electrical Power (G2131550): Check

NOTE: This procedure contains illustrations for left side components, right side components are similar.
  1. Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.

    Refer to: LIFTING

  2. Remove the rear wheel and tire.

    Refer to: WHEEL AND TIRE

    Disconnect the electrical connector.

  4. NOTE: Remove and discard the O-ring seal.

    Remove the Electric Park Brake (EPB) actuator.

    Renew Part: Electric park brake actuator O-ring seal Quantity: 2 .

    Turn the caliper piston clockwise to set the rear brake caliper to the maintenance position.

  6. CAUTION: A new O-ring seal is to be installed.

    Install the EPB actuator.

    Torque  : 11 Nm 

  7. Connect the electrical connector.
  8. Repeat the above procedure for the other side.
  9. Install the rear wheel and tire.

    Refer to: WHEEL AND TIRE

  10. Calibrate the Electric Park Brake (EPB) using the Land Rover approved diagnostic tool.
