Electric Park Brake (G2768878): Overview

The EPB  is an electrically actuated system that operates the calipers on the rear brakes. The system consists of:

• A Park button (integrated in the GSM  )
• EPB  actuator (quantity 2)
• Warning indicator
• Integrated Power Brake control module

The EPB  system is integrated in the Integrated Power Brake control module. The EPB  system uses actuators to apply and release the rear disc brakes. The Park button activates software to start the operation of the EPB  .

Signals from other vehicle systems for operation of the EPB  are transmitted to the Integrated Power Brake control module through:

• FlexRay
• High Speed (HS) Controller Area Network (CAN) underbody systems bus.
