High Temperature Re-Clamp
After heavy use of the brakes, the disc temperatures can be extremely high. If the vehicle is stationary and the EPB is applied, the Integrated Power Brake control module automatically reapplies the EPB as the brake discs cool down.
High temperature re-clamp if the following conditions occur:
- At brake disc temperatures of 250°C (482°F) and above.
- At any temperature when the vehicle is parked on a 20% or steeper slope.
Depending on the temperature and inclination, up to 3 re-clamps can occur, at varying time intervals, in the 10 minutes following the initial application of the EPB . To limit the number of re-clamps, the ignition status as well as the current inclination of the vehicle is considered.
