Actuator Dynamic Brake Function

The Actuator Dynamic Brake Function (ADBF) mode is used if the Integrated Power Brake cannot operate the brakes hydraulically, but still has wheel speed signals available.

The wheel speed inputs allow the Integrated Power Brake control module to adjust the clamp load on the rear brakes as necessary to produce maximum deceleration without locking the wheels.

When the vehicle speed decreases to 3 km/h (2 mph), the Integrated Power Brake control module fully applies the EPB  .

The ADBF uses the EPB  actuators to apply the rear brakes only, there is no hydraulic brake application and the front brakes are not applied.
