Electric Park Brake Switch

The EPB is manually applied and released using the integrated Park button, which is located in the GSM . When stationary, pushing the Park button selects PARK in the transmission and also applies the EPB . The EPB can be released by pressing and holding the Park button for 1 second when the brake pedal is also pressed.
The Park button contains a pair of microswitches and has 4 hardwired connections with the Integrated Power Brake control module. This enables the Integrated Power Brake control module to perform a plausibility check on each switch selection.
When the Park button is operated, the Integrated Power Brake control module activates the actuators to apply the EPB .
