Brake Pads - Vehicles With: 324 Mm Brake Disc (G2782929): Installation

WARNING: Do not use compressed air to clean brake components. Dust from friction materials can be harmful if inhaled.CAUTION: Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of foreign material.
Use brake cleaner to clean the brake caliper housing and brake caliper carrier.
Material: Brake Cleaner

WARNING: If the brake caliper chamber dust boot is damaged a new brake caliper must be installed.
Examine the brake caliper dust boots for damage.

CAUTION:
- As the piston is pushed back into the caliper housing, the brake fluid level in the reservoir will rise. Do not allow the reservoir to overflow.
- Check the brake fluid reservoir level before and after pushing the piston back, failure to follow this instruction may result in damage to the vehicle.
Use a suitable tool to fully retract the brake caliper piston.
Special Tool(s): 206-080

CAUTION: Make sure the brake pads are installed in the correct orientation.
Install the brake pads.

CAUTION: Make sure that the brake hose is not twisted and is correctly located.
- Remove and discard the cable tie that supports the brake caliper.
- Position the brake caliper in the correct location.
- Install and tighten the 2 brake caliper slide pins.
Torque : 28 Nm
- Install the 2 brake caliper dust covers.

CAUTION: Care must be taken for the brake pad wear sensor is easily damaged.NOTE: The brake pad wear sensor is only installed on the right side brake caliper.
- Reposition the wiring harness into the correct location.
- Install the brake pad wear sensor to the brake pad.
- Install the brake pad wear sensor grommet to the bracket.
- Connect the electrical connector to the EPB .
- Install the brake caliper anti-rattle spring.
- Install the rear wheel and tire.
Refer to: WHEEL AND TIRE
- Repeat the above procedure for the other side.

CAUTION: Failure to follow this instruction may lead to brake warning lamps and Diagnostic Trouble Code(s) (DTC) being set.

NOTE: Although the brake pedal might feel firm make sure to hold the pedal through the 10 second period.
If the Integrated Power Brake unit - 'Assembly Mode' has not been activated, press and hold the brake pedal in a single apply for 10 seconds.
- If the brake pedal felt soft and fell to the floor proceed to substep 4.
- If the brake pedal felt firm proceed to substep 5.
- NOTE: Make sure to repeatedly press the brake pedal until a firm brake pedal feel is reached.
If the Integrated Power Brake unit - 'Assembly Mode' has been activated, press the brake pedal several times until a firm brake pedal feel is reached.
- Check the fluid level in the brake fluid reservoir and top-up with brake fluid if necessary.

Disable the EPB maintenance mode.
