Tire Pressure Sensor (G2301164): Removal
CAUTION:
If a new sensor is installed, make sure that the new sensor has the correct frequency 433 MHz. Failure to follow this instruction may result in a system malfunction.
NOTE:
- This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending on the vehicle specification, but the essential information is always correct.
- This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.
- If the sensor is replaced on a 'running' wheel, the new sensor identification will be learnt when the vehicle is first driven. If a new sensor is installed on the spare wheel, the identification for that sensor must be programmed into the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) module using Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment. The identification code is provided on a label with the complete assembly and is also printed on the casing of each sensor.
- Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.

- Remove the wheel and tire.
Refer to: WHEEL AND TIRE .
Remove the cap.
Remove the valve.

CAUTION:
- Wait until all of the air has been released from the tire.
- To avoid damage to the tire pressure sensor, start releasing the tire 180 degrees away from the valve.
Remove the tire from the wheel.

CAUTION:
- Do not push on the valve.
- If the tire pressure sensor is to be re-installed, a new seal and nut must be installed.
Remove the tire pressure sensor.
