Tread Act (North AMERICAN Specification Only)
Vehicles supplied to the North American Specification (NAS) markets must comply with the legislation of the Transport Recall Enhancement, Accountability and Documentation (TREAD) act. Part of the requirement of the TREAD act is for the vehicle to display a label, positioned on the driver's side B-pillar, which defines:
- The recommended tire inflation pressure
- Load limits
- Maximum load of passengers
- Luggage weight the vehicle can safely carry.
This label will be specific to each individual vehicle and will be installed on the production line.
Do not remove the label from the vehicle. The label information defines the specification of the vehicle as it came off the production line. It does not include retailer or owner installed accessory wheels and tires of differing size from the original.
NOTE:
- If tires and wheels of a non-standard size are installed to the vehicle, the car configuration file must be updated using Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) approved diagnostic equipment.
- If the label is damaged or removed for body repair, replace it with a new label specific to that vehicle. Order a new label from Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) parts as it is printed specifically for the vehicle.
