Tire Pressure Monitoring System Control Module
The Radio Frequency (RF) receiver is integrated into the Tire Pressure Monitoring System Control Module (TPMSCM). The TPMSCM is installed on the headliner and connects to the roof harness via a 6-pin electrical connector. Only 4 wires of the 6-pin connector are used:
- High Speed (HS) Controller Area Network (CAN) chassis systems bus (2 pins)
- Ground
- Power supply.
The TPMSCM receives transmissions from each of the tire pressure sensors sent via an internal antenna in each of the sensors. This information is then decoded and analyzed. Any required warnings along with current tire pressure information is communicated on the HS CAN.
