Fault Detection

If a single tire pressure sensor or sensor battery fails, the sensor stops transmitting and the amber warning indicator in the Instrument Cluster (IC) illuminates after driving for about 10 minutes. A message 'XX Tire Pressure Not Monitored' displays in the information and message center in addition to the amber warning indicator.

NOTE: 'XX' means the tire position on the vehicle:

FL (front left)
FR (front right)
RL (rear left)
RR (rear right).

Interrogate the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) using Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) approved diagnostic equipment to determine the cause of the message. If the tire pressure sensor has failed, replace the sensor and remove the stored Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) with the JLR approved diagnostic equipment.

When 1 of the following situations happen:

More than 1 sensor fails and the vehicle is driven for about 10 minutes.
The TPMS develops a system fault.
Radio Frequency (RF) interference near the vehicle affects signal reception.

Then:

The amber warning indicator flashes for 75 seconds and then remains illuminated.
A message 'Tire Pressure Monitoring System Fault' appears in the IC information and message center.

NOTE: When the Radio Frequency (RF) interference stops and a signal is received again, the fault is automatically cancelled and the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) operates normally.
