Vehicle Dynamic Suspension (G2298393): Overview

Depending on vehicle specification, the vehicle is equipped with the electronically controlled Adaptive Damping (AD) system. The AD system continuously adjusts the damping characteristics of the adaptive shock absorbers in reaction to the existing driving conditions.

The AD system senses the road surface and the driving style in real time. The AD system senses the road 500 times a second and adjusts the damping characteristics 100 times per second. By adjusting the damping characteristics to road and driving conditions continuously it provides the ultimate performance in comfort and handling. The system is controlled by the Chassis Control Module (CHCM).

The CHCM receives signals from 4 accelerometers, 4 height sensors and other vehicle systems to determine:

The CHCM uses these signals to continuously control the damping characteristics of each adaptive shock absorber to the appropriate level. This gives the optimum body control and vehicle ride.
