Oil Pan (G2297912): Removal
WARNING:
- The spilling of hot oil is unavoidable during this procedure, care must be taken to prevent scalding.
- Be prepared to collect escaping oil.
CAUTION:
Before disconnecting any components, make sure the area is clean and free from foreign material. When disconnected all openings must be sealed.
NOTE:
- This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending on the vehicle specification, but the essential information is always correct.
- This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.
The following step(s) applies to:
All vehicles
- Disconnect the startup battery ground cable.
Refer to: 12V SYSTEM DISCONNECT .
- Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.
Refer to: JACKING AND LIFTING .
- Drain the engine oil.
Refer to: ENGINE OIL VACUUM DRAINING AND FILLING .
- Remove the starter motor.
Refer to: STARTER MOTOR .
- Remove the front right halfshaft.
Refer to: FRONT RIGHT HALFSHAFT .
- Remove the engine front cover.

The following step(s) applies to:
Mild Hybrid Electric Vehicles
- Remove the 2 nuts.
- Reposition the Belt Integrated Starter Generator (BISG) wiring harness.
The following step(s) applies to:
All vehicles
- Disconnect the Air Conditioning (A/C) compressor electrical connector.
- Release the clip.

CAUTION: Make sure that there is no tension on the Air Conditioning (A/C) pipes when the A/C compressor bolts are removed. Use suitable equipment to support the A/C compressor.
- Remove the 3 bolts.
- Reposition the A/C compressor.
- Remove the bolt.
- Release the 3 clips.
- Remove the oil level gauge pipe.
- Remove and discard the O-ring seal.
Release the 2 clips.
- Remove the 2 bolts.
- Remove the right undershield bracket.
Remove and discard the 3 bolts.
- Use a suitable tool to lever the engine forwards.
- Remove the engine mount.
- Remove the 2 nuts.
- Remove the heatshield.
- Remove the 5 bolts.
- Remove the upper exhaust bracket.
- Remove the 2 bolts.
- Remove the lower exhaust bracket.
- Remove the 8 bolts.
- Remove the halfshaft support bracket.

NOTE: If equipped.
- Remove the nut.
- Release the transmission fluid pipes.
Remove the fastener.
- Remove the 2 fasteners.
- Remove the Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH) material.
Remove the 5 bolts.
Remove the 14 bolts.
Loosen, but not fully remove the 2 bolts.
Use a suitable tool to carefully release the oil pan.
- Remove the 2 bolts.
- Remove the oil pan.
