Lower Timing Cover (G2110221): Installation

CAUTION: Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of foreign material.

Apply a 3 mm diameter bead of sealant to the areas shown in the illustration. Use silicone gasket sealant meeting Jaguar Land Rover specifications.

Refer to: SPECIFICATIONS .
CAUTION: Take care not to damage the cylinder head gasket when installing the lower timing cover.

- Install the lower timing cover.
- Tighten the 2 bolts shown to allow the dowels to be pushed into the correct position.
  Torque : 5 Nm

- Install 2 additional bolts as shown.
- Install and tighten the 4 bolts.
  Torque : 25 Nm

- Install and tighten the remaining 11 bolts.
  Torque
  1. M8x35 Hex bolts: 25 Nm
  2. M8x30 Torx bolts: 25 Nm
  3. M6x30 Hex bolts: 12 Nm
Install the CKP sensor.
Refer to: CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR .
Install the crankshaft rear seal.
Refer to: CRANKSHAFT REAR SEAL .
Connect the startup battery ground cable.
Refer to: STARTUP BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT .
