Intake Manifold (G2309274): Removal
CAUTION:
Before disconnecting any components, make sure the area is clean and free from foreign material. When disconnected all openings must be sealed.
NOTE:
- This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending on the vehicle specification, but the essential information is always correct.
- This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.
- Disconnect the startup battery ground cable.
Refer to: 12V SYSTEM DISCONNECT .
- Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.
Refer to: JACKING AND LIFTING .
- Remove the cooling module.
Refer to: COOLING MODULE .
- Remove the purge valve.
Refer to: PURGE VALVE .
Release the breather from the intake manifold.
- Remove the bolt.
- Remove the oil filler pipe.
- Remove and discard the O-ring seal.
- Release the 3 vacuum pipe clips.
- Remove the vacuum pipe.
- Release the coolant pipe clip.
- Remove the oil level gauge bolt.
- Remove the oil level gauge.

CAUTION: Be prepared to collect escaping coolant.
- Release the 3 hose clamps.
- Release the 3 coolant hoses.
- Remove the 3 bolts.
- Remove the coolant pipe.
- Disconnect the Manifold Absolute Pressure and Temperature (MAPT) sensor electrical connector.
- Disconnect the knock sensor electrical connector.
- Release the 2 wiring harness clips.
- Disconnect the throttle body electrical connector.
- Release the wiring harness clip.
- Release the hose clamp.
- Release the charge air cooler outlet hose.
- Release the hose clamp.
- Release the coolant hose from the thermostat.
- Remove the 7 bolts.
- Remove the intake manifold assembly.
Remove and discard the 4 intake manifold gaskets.

NOTE: Only do the following step(s) if a new component is to be installed.
- Remove the bolt.
- Remove the MAPT sensor.
- Remove and discard the O-ring seal.
- Remove the 4 bolts.
- Remove the throttle body from the intake manifold.
- Remove and discard the throttle body to intake manifold gasket.
