Exhaust System - INGENIUM I4 2.0L Petrol (G2299329): Removal
WARNING:
Observe due care when working near a hot exhaust system.
CAUTION:
Make sure the exhaust system is supported at all times.
NOTE:
- This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending on the vehicle specification, but the essential information is always correct.
- This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.
- Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.
Refer to: JACKING AND LIFTING .
- Remove the engine undershield.
Refer to: ENGINE UNDERSHIELD .
- Remove and discard the 3 nuts.
- Reposition the wiring harness bracket away from the exhaust system.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the Active Exhaust Module (AEM).
- Release the wiring harness from the clip and reposition away from the exhaust system.

WARNING: This step requires the aid of another technician.
- Remove the 7 bolts.
- Remove the 3 nuts.
- Remove the exhaust system.
- Remove and discard the gasket.

NOTE: Do not disassemble further if the component is removed for access only.
- Remove the 3 nuts.
- Remove the AEM.
- Remove the front exhaust mounting rubber
- Remove the exhaust hanger bracket from the front exhaust section.
Remove the exhaust hanger brackets from the rear exhaust section.
