Coolant Pump - Vehicles With: Non-Electric Vehicles (G2308653): Removal
CAUTION:
Before disconnecting any components, make sure the area is clean and free from foreign material. When disconnected all openings must be sealed.
NOTE:
- This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending on the vehicle specification, but the essential information is always correct.
- This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.
- Disconnect the startup battery ground cable.
Refer to: 12V SYSTEM DISCONNECT .
- Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.
Refer to: JACKING AND LIFTING .
- Drain the cooling system.
Refer to: COOLING SYSTEM PARTIAL DRAINING AND VACUUM FILLING .
- Remove the front right wheel arch liner.
Refer to: FRONT WHEEL ARCH LINER .
Loosen the coolant pump pulley bolts but do no fully remove.
- Remove the accessory drive belt.
Refer to: ACCESSORY DRIVE BELT - VEHICLES WITH: NON-ELECTRIC VEHICLES .
- Remove the 3 bolts.
- Remove the coolant pump pulley.
Disconnect the 2 electrical connectors.

CAUTION:
- Be prepared to collect escaping coolant.
- Inspect the coolant pump gasket for damage. If any damage is visible, a new coolant pump gasket must be installed.
- Remove the 6 bolts.
- Remove the coolant pump.
