Engine Wiring Harness - INGENIUM I4 2.0L Diesel, Vehicles With: MHEV (G2320499): Removal
CAUTION:
Take extra care not to damage the wiring harness clips.
NOTE:
- This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending on the vehicle specification, but the essential information is always correct.
- This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.
- Left Hand Drive (LHD) illustration(s) shown, Right Hand Drive (RHD) is similar.
- Note the position of the wiring harnesses to aid installation.
- Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.
Refer to: JACKING AND LIFTING .
- Disconnect the startup battery ground cable.
Refer to: 12V SYSTEM DISCONNECT .
- Remove the front left wheel arch liner.
Refer to: FRONT WHEEL ARCH LINER .
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the glow plug control module.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the Fuel Pump Driver Module (FPDM).
- Remove the engine undershield.
Refer to: ENGINE UNDERSHIELD .
Release the starter motor wiring harness clip.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from Belt Integrated Starter Generator (BISG) wiring harness.
- Release the 2 wiring harness clips.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the Air Conditioning (AC) compressor.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the auxiliary coolant pump.
- Release the 2 wiring harness clips.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the piston cooling jet solenoid.
- Disconnect the 2 electrical connectors from the electric thermostat.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the cylinder block temperature sensor.
- Release the wiring harness clip.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the oil pump control solenoid.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the Crankshaft Position Sensor (CKP).
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the starter motor wiring harness.
- Remove the 2 bolts.
- Disconnect the 2 electrical connectors from the coolant pump.
- Release the wiring harness clip.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the differential pressure sensor.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the charge air temperature sensor.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the post Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) temperature sensor.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S).
- Release the 4 wiring harness clips.
- Remove the air filter housing.

- Remove the air filter housing outlet pipe.
- Remove the ground bolt.
- Release the 2 wiring harness bracket clips.
- Remove the bolt.
- Release the wiring harness bracket clip.
- Remove the hood latch panel.
Refer to: HOOD LATCH PANEL .
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the charge air temperature sensor.
- Release the 2 charge air hose clamps.
- Remove the charge air hose.
Disconnect the electrical connector from the throttle actuator.
Disconnect the 2 electrical connectors from the fuel pump.
- Remove the fuel cooler.

- Disconnect the 6 fuel pipe connectors.
- Release the 3 clips.
- Remove the fuel pipe assembly.
- Remove the fuel filter.
Refer to: FLEX FUEL FILTER (G2172339) or the appropriate service information
- Release the clip.
- Remove the 3 nuts.
- Remove the fuel filter bracket.
- Remove the 2 bolts.
- Remove the rear heatshield.
- Remove the bolt.
- Remove the nut.
- Remove the front heatshield.
Remove the DPF bracket.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the oil pressure and temperature sensor.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the cylinder head temperature sensor.
- Release the 3 wiring harness clips.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the variable swirl valve actuator.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the Manifold Absolute Pressure and Temperature sensor (MAPT).
- Release the 6 wiring harness clips.
- Disconnect the 4 electrical connectors from the glow plugs.
- Disconnect the 3 electrical connectors from the Electronic Vacuum Regulating Valve (EVRV) assembly.
- Release the 2 hoses.
- Remove the 2 bolts.
- Reposition the EVRV assembly.
- Disconnect the 4 electrical connectors from the fuel injectors.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the fuel rail.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the Camshaft Position Sensor (CMP).
- Release the 6 wiring harness clips.
Release the wiring harness cover.
- Release the hose.
- Remove the 2 bolts.
- Remove the fuel cooler bracket.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the fuel rail.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the charge air temperature sensor.
- Release the 3 vacuum hose clips.
- Remove the bolt.
- Release the 2 wiring harness bracket clips.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the Variable Camshaft Timing (VCT) solenoid.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the differential pressure sensor.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the exhaust back-pressure sensor.
- Release the 3 wiring harness clips.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the EGR actuator.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the turbocharger.
- Release the 3 wiring harness clips.
- Remove the startup battery tray.

- Disconnect the 2 electrical connectors from the transmission.
- Release the 2 wiring harness clips.
- Remove the cowl panel.
Refer to: COWL PANEL .
- Release the wiring harness grommet.
- Release the wiring harness bracket clip.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the Powertrain Control Module (PCM).
- Release the wiring harness clip.
- Loosen, but do not fully remove the bolt.
- Disconnect the 2 electrical connectors from the main wiring harness.
Remove the engine wiring harness.
