Static Apply/Release

Static apply mode will operate in all Power Modes. When the EPB  switch is in the apply direction, the ABS  activates the 2 EPB  actuators. This operation applies the brakes. The ABS  also signals the IPC  to illuminate the warning indicator. The warning indicator stays on continuously in Power Mode 6 (ignition ON). The warning indicator stays on for 30 seconds after Power Mode 0 or 4 (vehicle locked and armed or accessory) is selected.

For the static release mode to operate, Power Mode 6 (Ignition ON) or higher must be selected with either the brake or accelerator pedal pressed. When the EPB  switch is operated to the release position, the ABS  activates the 2 EPB  actuators to release the brakes. The ABS  signals the IPC  to turn off the warning indicator.
