Actuator Dynamic Brake Function
If the ABS cannot operate the brakes hydraulically, the Actuator Dynamic Brake Function (ADBF) mode operates. Wheel speeds must still be available.
The wheel speed inputs allow the ABS to adjust the clamp load on the rear brakes as necessary. The adjustment of the clamp load produces maximum deceleration without locking the wheels.
When the vehicle speed is less than 3 km/h (2 mph), the ABS fully applies the EPB .
ADBF uses the EPB actuators to apply the rear brakes only, there is no hydraulic brake application and the front brakes are not applied.
