The Integrated Power Brake is installed is located on the engine bulkhead. The Integrated Power Brake has the functionality of the ABS .
The Integrated Power Brake control module controls the 2 EPB actuators separately.
A longitudinal motion sensor is integrated into the RCM . The RCM communicates with the Integrated Power Brake on the HS CAN chassis systems bus. The longitudinal motion sensor allows the Integrated Power Brake to determine the longitudinal attitude of the vehicle and to monitor the deceleration of the vehicle.

The 4 hardwired connections within the EPB switch give the Integrated Power Brake the EPB apply and EPB release inputs. The EPB is integrated into the Integrated Power Brake. The 4 wheel speed sensors are also hardwired into the Integrated Power Brake.
Inputs from other components are received on the HS CAN chassis systems bus and FlexRay as follows:
- Accelerator Pedal Position (APP) sensor, from the Powertrain Control Module (PCM).
- Pedal travel sensor, integrated into the Integrated Power Brake.
- Gear position, from the Transmission Control Module (TCM).
- Clutch position sensor (manual transmissions only)
The Integrated Power Brake outputs status and fault signals on the HS CAN chassis systems bus. These outputs operate the warning indicators and advise other systems if there is a fault with the EPB system.
