Brake Disc (G2309408): Removal
WARNING:
- If new brake discs are to be installed, make sure that new brake pads are installed.
- Brake discs must be replaced in axle sets.
CAUTION:
- The brake disc can be easily damaged. Do not drop the brake disc.
- Make sure the brake disc is held only on the friction ring during operation.
- Make sure to discard the component if the brake disc got any accidental hit, impact or damage on the surface during handling.
NOTE:
- This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending on the vehicle specification, but the essential information is always correct.
- This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.
- Connect the Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) approved diagnostic equipment and set the Electric Park Brake (EPB) to the maintenance position.
General Equipment: Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment

NOTE: This step is only required if the Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) approved diagnostic equipment is not available.
Activate the service mode function of the EPB.
Refer to: ELECTRIC PARK BRAKE SERVICE MODE ACTIVATION AND DEACTIVATION .
- Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.
Refer to: JACKING AND LIFTING .
- Remove the rear wheel and tire.
Refer to: WHEEL AND TIRE .
- Disconnect the startup battery ground cable.
Refer to: 12V SYSTEM DISCONNECT .

NOTE: Right side only.
- Disconnect and release the brake pad wear sensor.
- Disconnect and release the EPB electrical connector.
- Remove and discard the 2 bolts.
- Using a suitable tie strap, secure the brake caliper to one side.

CAUTION: The brake disc can be easily damaged. Do not drop the brake disc.
- Remove the and discard the screw.
- Remove the brake disc.
