On the INGENIUM I4 2.0L Diesel and Petrol engine the vacuum pump is integral with the engine oil pump.
The variable flow oil pump with integral vacuum pump is attached to the cylinder block with 4 bolts. The input shaft of the variable flow oil pump with integral vacuum pump is equipped with a sprocket. The variable flow oil pump is driven from the right side of the crankshaft, by an auxiliary chain, at 0.84 times engine speed. The chain is immersed in engine oil and has no tensioner. The chain tension is defined by the axial spacings between the variable flow oil pump with integral vacuum pump and the crankshaft.
The brake vacuum pump extracts air from the brake booster through a drilling in the cylinder block and a brake vacuum pipe connector on the cylinder block. The extracted air from the brake booster flows through the brake vacuum pipes and the brake vacuum pipe connector. The brake vacuum pipe connector is equipped with a 1 way valve to prevent engine oil ingress into the brake system. The air is vented into the oil pan via the brake vacuum exhaust valve.
