Brake Pad Wear Sensor

The brake pad wear sensors on each brake caliper are wired in series and connected to the Body Control Module/Gateway Module (BCM/GWM). If the thickness of 1 of the brake pads connected to a wear sensor decreases to a predetermined limit, the BCM/GWM sends a message to the IC (Instrument Cluster). The message is transmitted by the High Speed (HS) Controller Area Network (CAN) Chassis systems bus.
