Rear Bumper (G2299906): Removal
NOTE:
- This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending on the vehicle specification, but the essential information is always correct.
- This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.
- Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.

NOTE: Repeat the procedure for the other side.
Remove the wheel and tire.
Refer to: WHEEL AND TIRE .

NOTE: Repeat the step for the other side.
- Remove the 3 screws.
- Remove the nut.
- Release the rear section of the wheel arch liner.

NOTE: Repeat the step for the other side.
- Remove the 2 screws.
- Remove the bolt.
- Remove the rear wheel arch liner molding.

NOTE: Repeat the step for the other side.
Remove the bolt.
Disconnect the electrical connector.
Remove the 2 lower bolts from the rear bumper.

CAUTION: Use a suitable plastic trim tool to release the component.
- Release the tailgate weatherstrip.
- Remove the 2 quarter panel finishers.
Remove the 2 bolts from the inside of the rear bumper.
Remove the 2 cover caps.
Release the rear bumper on both sides.

CAUTION: Protect the surrounding paintwork to avoid damage.
With assistance, remove the rear bumper.

NOTE: Do not disassemble further if the component is removed for access only.
- Disconnect the 4 electrical connectors.
- Release the 7 clips.
- Release the rear bumper wiring harness on the right side.
- Disconnect the 4 electrical connectors.
- Release the 7 clips.
- Release the rear bumper wiring harness on the left side.
- Disconnect the 2 electrical connectors.
- Release the 9 clips.
- Remove the wiring harness.
- Remove the 4 screws.
- Release the 2 clips.
- Remove the 2 rear fog lamps.
- Remove the 6 screws.
- Remove the hands-free tailgate sensor assemblies on both sides.
- Release the 8 clips.
- Remove the 4 parking aid sensors.
- Release the 4 clips.
- Remove the 2 park assist sensors.

CAUTION: Use a suitable plastic trim tool to release the component.
- Remove the 6 screws.
- Release the 10 clips.
- Remove the rear valance.
