Fuel Flap Assembly (G2298092): Removal

WARNING: Avoid flames, sparks or lighted substances.

CAUTION: Before disconnecting any components, make sure the area is clean and free from foreign material. When disconnected all openings must be sealed.

The following step(s) applies to:

Vehicles with diesel engine

Before working on the fuel system make sure to study the fuel system health and safety information.

The following step(s) applies to:

Vehicles with petrol engine
Before working on the fuel system make sure to study the fuel system health and safety information.
Refer to: PETROL AND PETROL-ETHANOL FUEL SYSTEMS HEALTH AND SAFETY PRECAUTIONS .

The following step(s) applies to:

All vehicles
Remove the rear right wheel and tire.
Refer to: WHEEL AND TIRE .
Remove the rear right wheel arch liner.
Refer to: REAR WHEEL ARCH LINER .

Disconnect the fuel flap latch electrical connector.

- Open the fuel flap.
- Remove the 2 caps.

Using a suitable knife, pierce the fuel filler door assembly in the locations shown.

- Release the 4 clips.
- Release the fuel flap assembly.
NOTE: Only do the following step(s) if a new component is to be installed.

- Release the clip.
- Remove the fuel flap.
