Instrument Panel Cross-Car Beam (G2300535): Installation

CAUTION: Make sure that all the clips are correctly installed.

NOTE: Only do the following step(s) if the component was previously removed.
- Install the instrument panel bracket.
- Install and tighten the 2 bolts.
  Torque : 15 Nm
Install the instrument panel wiring harness.
- Secure the 20 wiring harness clips.
- Connect the electrical connector.
- Install and tighten the 4 ground bolts.
  Torque : 9 Nm
CAUTION: Make sure the wiring harness and electrical connectors are not damaged during this operation.
- With assistance, install the instrument panel cross-car beam and wiring harness.
- Connect the 4 electrical connectors to the evaporator.
- Secure the wiring harness clip.
CAUTION: Only tighten the nuts and bolts finger tight at this stage.

- Install the 2 instrument panel cross-car beam lower brackets.
- Install the 4 nuts.
- Install the 8 bolts.

Install and tighten the instrument panel cross-car beam 2 outside bolts.

Torque : 25 Nm

- Fully tighten the 8 bolts.
  Torque : 25 Nm
- Fully tighten the 4 nuts.
  Torque : 5 Nm

- Install and tighten the 4 bolts.
  Torque : 10 Nm

- Install the instrument panel cross-car beam center bracket.
- Install and tighten the 2 bolts.
  Torque : 10 Nm

- Install the steering column assembly.
- Install and tighten the 4 bolts from the steering column.
  Torque : 20 Nm
- Install the steering column flexible coupling.
- Install and tighten the new steering column flexible coupling bolt.
  Renew Part: Steering column intermediate shaft lower bolt Quantity: 1 .
  
  Torque : 30 Nm

Connect the 3 electrical connectors.
NOTE: If equipped.
- Connect the electrical connector to the steering column.
- Secure the wiring harness clip.
- Install the inner bracket.
- Install and tighten the 6 bolts.
  Torque : 7 Nm
- Secure the wiring harness clip.

Connect the 5 electrical connectors.
- Install the right side footwell air duct.
- Install and tighten the bolt.
  Torque : 5 Nm
- Connect the electrical connector.
- Install the left side footwell air duct.
- Install and tighten the bolt.
  Torque : 5 Nm
- Secure the diagnostic connector.
- Connect the electrical connector to the left side footwell air duct temperature sensor.
Connect the 2 electrical connectors to the electric booster heater.

- Connect the electrical connector.
- Secure the 2 wiring harness clips.

- Connect the 2 electrical connectors.
- Secure the 3 wiring harness clips.
- Install and tighten the ground bolt.
  Torque : 12 Nm

- Connect the 5 electrical connectors to the Infotainment Master Controller (IMC).
- Secure the wiring harness clip.
- Install the IMC air duct bracket.
- Install the 4 fasteners.
- Secure the wiring harness clip.
- Install the rear footwell air duct.
- Secure the rear footwell air duct to the 2 studs.
Install the 2 front air ducts.
- Install the left side air duct.
- Secure the wiring harness to the clip.
- Install and tighten the 2 bolts.
  Torque : 6 Nm
- Install the right side air duct.
- Install and tighten the 2 bolt.
  Torque : 6 Nm
- Secure the wiring harness to the 2 clips.
Install the front right carpet.
Refer to: FRONT FLOOR CARPET .
Install the front right treadplate.
Refer to: FRONT RIGHT TREADPLATE .
Install the front left treadplate.
Refer to: FRONT LEFT TREADPLATE .
Install the instrument panel.
Refer to: INSTRUMENT PANEL .
Install the windshield wiper motor.
Refer to: WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR .
Connect the startup battery ground cable.
Refer to: 12V SYSTEM DISCONNECT .
