Oil Pan - INGENIUM I4 2.0L Petrol (G2203974): Removal

- Disconnect the 12 V system.
Refer to: SPECIFICATIONS .
- Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.
Refer to: LIFTING .
- Drain the engine oil.
Refer to: ENGINE OIL VACUUM DRAINING AND FILLING .
- Remove the engine.
Refer to: ENGINE - INGENIUM I4 2.0L PETROL .
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Release the 2 wiring harness clips.
- Remove the 2 retaining nuts.
- Release the wiring harness clip.
- Remove the 2 bolts.
- Remove the charge air cooler bracket.
Release the accessory drive belt tension and insert a suitable tool to lock the tensioner in place.
- Remove the bolt.
- Remove the accessory drive belt tensioner.

CAUTION: Only rotate the crankshaft clockwise.
Install the special tool.
Special Tool(s): JLR-303-1630
Remove and discard the 4 crankshaft pulley bolts.
- Remove the special tool.
Special Tool(s): JLR-303-1630
- Remove the crankshaft pulley.
- Remove the special tool.
Release the 3 wiring harness clips.
- Remove the 2 bolts.
- Remove the bracket.
- Remove the 2 dust covers.
- Remove the 2 bolts.
- Remove the 2 idler pulleys.
- Remove the 12 bolts.
- Remove the engine front cover.
- Release the 2 clips.
- Remove the bolt.
- Remove the oil level gauge.
Remove the 4 transmission bolts.
- Remove the 4 bolts.
- Remove the Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH) material.
Remove the 17 oil pan retaining bolts.
Loosen, but do not fully remove the 2 bolts.
Using a suitable tool, pry the oil pan away from the engine at the indicated points.
- Fully remove the 2 oil pan retaining bolts.
- Remove the oil pan.
