Crankshaft Rear Seal - INGENIUM I4 2.0L Petrol, AWD (G2173061): Installation

Install the special tool (JLR-303-1674) to the rear of the crankshaft.

Special Tool(s): JLR-303-1674A
CAUTION:
- Make sure a new seal is installed.
- If the seal is removed from the spacer provided, a new seal must be installed.
- Make sure that the area around the component is clean and free of foreign material.
NOTE: The component labeled B in the illustration is a alignment spacer provided with a new seal.

Position the new crankshaft oil seal (A) and spacer (B) over special tool JLR-303-1674. Carefully slide the crankshaft oil seal (A) over the end of the crankshaft and discard the spacer (B).

Special Tool(s): JLR-303-1674A

Renew Part: Crankshaft rear seal Quantity: 1 .
CAUTION: Make sure the oil seal is correctly installed.

- Install the second part of special tool JLR-303-1674 to position the crankshaft oil seal correctly.
- Tighten the bolt until the seal is fully installed and the bolt stops turning.
  Special Tool(s): JLR-303-1674A
Install the transmission assembly.

Connect the startup battery ground cable.
