Supercharger Cooling: Overview
The supercharger cooling system cools the pressurized charge air from the electric supercharger and turbocharger. The supercharger cooling system consists of:
- Charge air coolant pump
- Left auxiliary radiator
- Right auxiliary radiator
- Electric supercharger bypass valve
- Electric supercharger
- Charge air cooler
- Compressor Recirculation Valve (CRV)
- For additional information, refer to: TURBOCHARGER (G1868476) .
- Manifold absolute pressure and temperature sensor.
The supercharger cooling system is operationally independent of the engine cooling system. The supercharger cooling system has a connection to the radiator upper hose. The connection with the engine cooling system accommodates thermal expansion and retraction of the coolant in the supercharger cooling system. In addition, the connection enables the filling and draining of the supercharger cooling system.
