ITEM DESCRIPTION
1 Apply
2 Release

The Electric Park Brake (EPB) is manually applied and released using the EPB switch, which is located in the floor console. Operating the switch lever upwards applies the park brake. Operating the switch lever down releases the park brake.

The EPB switch contains a pair of microswitches for both the apply and release actions. The EPB control module provides an individual hardwired electrical feed to each of the 4 microswitches plus a single ground connection, allowing it to constantly monitor switch status.

When the EPB switch is operated, the ABS control module activates the EPB actuators to apply the brakes. The ABS control module signals the Instrument Cluster (IC) to turn on the EPB indicator lamp.

Interior lighting switch illumination is provided by a hardwired connection with the Body Control Module/Gateway Module (BCM/GWM) assembly.
