Brake Pads - Vehicles With: 325 Mm Brake Disc (G2312485): Installation

WARNING: Do not use compressed air to clean brake components. Dust from friction materials can be harmful if inhaled.
Clean the brake caliper carrier using brake cleaning fluid.
Make sure the contact area for the outboard brake pad is clean and free from contaminants.
Inspect the caliper piston and slide pin seals for damage.
Push the brake caliper pistons back.

CAUTION: Make sure that the brake pad with the rubber shim is installed to the inboard side only.

CAUTION: Make sure that no lubricating grease is applied to the rear surface of the brake pads.NOTE: Complete this step for both ends of each brake pad.
Apply lubricating grease to the abutments/contact points of the brake pads.
- Install the 2 anti-rattle springs.
- Install the brake pads.

CAUTION: Do not allow the brake caliper to hang on the brake hose.
- Install the brake caliper.
- Install the 2 retaining bolts.
Torque : 35 Nm
- Connect the Electric Park Brake (EPB).

NOTE: Right side only.
Install the brake pad wear sensor.
- Repeat the above procedure for the other side.
- Install the rear wheels.
Refer to: WHEEL AND TIRE .
- Depress the brake pedal several times, check the fluid level in the brake fluid reservoir and top-up with brake fluid if necessary.

NOTE: This step is only required if the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment is not available.
Activate the park brake.
Refer to: ELECTRIC PARK BRAKE SERVICE MODE ACTIVATION AND DEACTIVATION .
- Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostics equipment, calibrate the EPB.
