Rear Brake Hose (G2284046): Removal

WARNING: Fluid loss is unavoidable, use absorbent cloth or a container to collect the fluid.
CAUTION: If brake fluid is spilt on the paintwork, the affected area must be immediately washed down with cold water.
NOTE: This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending on the vehicle specification, but the essential information is always correct.
  1. Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.

    Refer to: JACKING AND LIFTING .

  2. Remove the wheel and tire.

    Refer to: WHEEL AND TIRE .

  3. WARNING: Fluid loss is unavoidable, use absorbent cloth or a container to collect the fluid.
    CAUTION: If brake fluid is spilt on the paintwork, the affected area must be immediately washed down with cold water.
    NOTE: Make a note of the routed position of the brake hose prior to removal.

    • Release the nut.
    • Remove the brake hose retaining bolt.
  4. WARNING: Fluid loss is unavoidable, use absorbent cloth or a container to collect the fluid.
    CAUTION: If brake fluid is spilt on the paintwork, the affected area must be immediately washed down with cold water.

    • Remove the 2 bolts.
    • Remove the banjo bolt.
  5. WARNING: Fluid loss is unavoidable, use absorbent cloth or a container to collect the fluid.
    CAUTION: If brake fluid is spilt on the paintwork, the affected area must be immediately washed down with cold water.

    Remove and discard the brake hose.
