Front Stowage Compartment Lid (Integrated Control Panel) Not Opening Freely

A customer may express the concern that they are unable to access the front stowage compartment behind the Integrated Control Panel (ICP). The difficulty opening the front stowage compartment lid may be caused by misalignment of the instrument panel trim. The service instruction below illustrates how to inspect the installation of the instrument panel trim and highlights common causes for the customer concern. These may include but are not limited to:

1. Incorrect instrument panel trim installed.
2. Insufficient opening pressure on the ICP.
3. Misalignment of the instrument panel trim.
4. Incorrect positioning of the instrument panel trim retaining clips.
5. Incorrect installation of the ICP electrical wiring harness.
6. Incorrect installation of the front stowage compartment/ICP microswitch.
