WARNING:
  • If the vehicle has been powered down, do not power up the vehicle until all the bonding points have been tested.
  • It is the responsibility of the Electric Vehicle Senior Authorised Person (EVSAP) to make sure they comply with any local legislation for work on High Voltage (HV).
  • The approved Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn where indicated within this procedure and not removed unless indicated within a step. All items of PPE  must be checked for signs of damage before each use, if damaged, replacement PPE  must be obtained before doing this procedure.
CAUTION: Before disconnecting any components, make sure the area is clean and free from foreign material. When disconnected all openings must be sealed.
NOTE:
  • This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending on the vehicle specification, but the essential information is always correct.
  • This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.
  • All Permit To Work (PTW) documents must be kept for a minimum of 5 years.
  1. WARNING: Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) Electric Vehicle Competent Person (EVCP) trained technicians only.

    This procedure involves work on components associated with the HV  system. Only technicians qualified to EVCP  level or higher are allowed to do this procedure. It is mandated that all technicians involved with the steps in this procedure have read and understood the Electric Vehicle (EV) Safety Rules.

    Refer to: DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION .

    • Install the special tool.

      Special Tool(s): JLR-303-1633-01 

    • Install and tighten the 2 bolts.

      Torque  : 25 Nm

    • Install the special tool.

      Special Tool(s): JLR-303-1633-01 

    • Install a suitable hydraulic jib crane to the special tools as illustrated.

      General Equipment: Hydraulic jib crane 

    • Remove the engine from the engine stand.

      General Equipment: Engine stand

    • Remove the 4 bolts.
    • Remove the special tool.

      Special Tool(s): JLR-303-1673

    • Install the bracket.
    • Install and tighten the 4 bolts.

      Torque  : 63 Nm 

  6. WARNING: This step requires the aid of another technician.

    • Use the special tool and a suitable hydraulic jib crane to carefully install the engine.
    • Remove the hydraulic jib crane.

      General Equipment: Hydraulic jib crane 

    • Remove the special tool.

      Special Tool(s): JLR-303-1633-01

    Install and tighten the new nut.

    Renew Part: Engine mount nut(s) Quantity: 1  .

    Torque  : 110 Nm

    Install and tighten the new nut.

    Renew Part: Engine mount nut(s) Quantity: 1  .

    Torque  : 110 Nm

    • Remove the 2 bolts.
    • Remove the special tool.

      Special Tool(s): JLR-303-1633-01

    • Connect the 2 electrical connectors.
    • Tighten the bolt.

      Torque  : 7 Nm 

    • Install the wiring harness clip.
    • Install the wiring harness grommet.

    • Install the closing panel.
    • Install and tighten the 2 bolts.

      Torque  : 9 Nm

    • Connect the Low Pressure (LP) fuel line.
    • Connect the fuel vapor pipe.

    Connect the 2 coolant hoses.

    Connect the 2 coolant hoses.

    Connect the coolant hose.

  16. NOTE: If equipped.

    • Connect the electrical connector.
    • Install the wiring harness clip.
  17. Install the hood.

    Refer to: HOOD

  18. Install the transmission.

    Refer to: TRANSMISSION - INGENIUM I4 2.0L PETROL - PHEV

  19. Install the HV  Air Conditioning (A/C) compressor.

    Refer to: AIR CONDITIONING COMPRESSOR - INGENIUM I4 2.0L PETROL - PHEV

  20. Install the secondary bulkhead center panel.

    Refer to: SECONDARY BULKHEAD CENTER PANEL - INGENIUM I4 2.0L PETROL/INGENIUM I4 2.0L PETROL - PHEV/INGENIUM I6 3.0L DIESEL/INGENIUM I6 3.0L PETROL

  21. Vacuum fill the cooling system.

    Refer to: COOLING SYSTEM PARTIAL DRAINING AND VACUUM FILLING

    Power up the HV  system. Only technicians qualified to Electric Vehicle Authorised Person (EVAP) level or higher are allowed to perform this procedure. It is mandated that all technicians involved with the steps in this procedure have read and understood the EV  Safety Rules.
