Cooling Module - [+] PHEV (G2861041): Installation

  1. CAUTION: Take extra care not to damage the component.

    • Install the 2 radiator upper mounts.
    • With assistance, install the cooling module.
    • Install the 2 radiator lower mounts.
    • Install the 2 washers and tighten the 2 screws.

      Torque  : 15 Nm

    Connect the 2 coolant hoses.

    • Install the transmission fluid cooler.
    • Install and tighten the bolt.

      Torque  : 9 Nm 

    • Connect the coolant hose.

    • Install the auxiliary radiator coolant pump.
    • Install and tighten the bolt.

      Torque  : 10 Nm

    Connect the coolant hose.

    • Connect the 4 electrical connectors.
    • Install the 3 wiring harness clips.

    Install the 5 coolant hose clips.

    Install the steering gear wiring harness at the 3 clips.

    • Connect the 3 electrical connectors.
    • Install the 2 wiring harness clips.
    • Install the 2 coolant hose clips.

    • Install the coolant hose.
    • Install the coolant hose clamp.

    Install the 2 coolant hose clips.

  12. CAUTION: Make sure the new O-ring seal is installed.
    NOTE: Lubricate the O-ring seal with clean water.
    • Install the new O-ring seal to the coolant pipe.

      Renew Part: Charge air radiator pipe O-ring seal Quantity: 1  .

    • Install the upper coolant pipe to the charge air radiator.
    • Install and tighten the nut.

      Torque  : 9 Nm 

  13. CAUTION: Make sure the 4 new O-ring seals are installed.
    NOTE: Lubricate the O-ring seals with clean refrigerant oil.
    • Install the 4 new O-ring seals to the 2 A/C  pipes.

      Renew Part: Air conditioning pipes to condenser O-ring seals Quantity: 4  .

    • Install the 2 A/C  pipes to the A/C  condenser.
    • Install and tighten the 2 nuts.

      Torque  : 9 Nm

    Install and tighten the bolt.

    Torque  : 7 Nm 

  15. CAUTION: Make sure the new O-ring seal is installed.
    NOTE: Lubricate the O-ring seal with clean water.

    • Install the new O-ring seal to the coolant pipe.

      Renew Part: Charge air radiator pipe O-ring seal Quantity: 1  .

    • Install the lower coolant pipe to the charge air radiator.
    • Install and tighten the nut.

      Torque  : 9 Nm 

    • Connect the coolant hose.

    • Connect the 2 coolant pipes.
    • Install the 4 coolant pipe clips.
  17. CAUTION: Take extra care not to damage the component.

    Install the cooling module air deflector at the 6 clips.

    • With assistance, Install the front armature.
    • Install and tighten the 8 front armature bolts.

      Torque  : 55 Nm 

  19. NOTE: Repeat this step for the other side.

    Install and tighten the 2 front armature upper bolts.

    Torque  : 55 Nm

    • Reposition the steering gear wiring harness support bracket to the original position.
    • Install and tighten the 2 bolts.

      Torque  : 9 Nm

    • Install the cooling module protector.
    • Install and tighten the 4 bolts.

      Torque 

      M10 bolt: 45 Nm 

      M12 bolt: 90 Nm 

  22. NOTE: Repeat this step for the other side.

    • Install the brake cooling air duct.
    • Install the 2 clips.

    • Install the coolant expansion tank.
    • Connect the electrical connector.
    • Connect the coolant hose.

    • Install the coolant expansion tank to the original position.
    • Install and tighten the bolt.

      Torque  : 2.8 Nm 

  25. CAUTION: Take extra care not to damage the component.

    Connect the 3 coolant pipe connectors.

  26. Install the left air cleaner.

    Refer to: AIR FILTER HOUSING

  27. Install the intake air resonator.

    Refer to: INTAKE AIR RESONATOR

  28. Install the hood latch panel.

    Refer to: HOOD LATCH PANEL

  29. Connect the 12 V system.

    Refer to: 12V SYSTEM DISCONNECT AND CONNECT

  30. Fill the PHEV  battery cooling system with the correct amount of coolant fluid.

    Refer to: PHEV BATTERY COOLING SYSTEM DRAINING AND VACUUM FILLING

  31. Recharge the A/C  system to the correct specification.

    Refer to: AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM RECOVERY, EVACUATION AND CHARGING

  32. Fill the engine cooling system with the correct amount of coolant fluid.

    Refer to: COOLING SYSTEM PARTIAL DRAINING AND VACUUM FILLING
