PHEV Battery Heater

The PHEV battery heater is located under the floor of the luggage compartment at the rear of the vehicle. The PHEV battery heater provides only a set level of heat input into the PHEV battery coolant. The flow of PHEV battery coolant through the PHEV battery heater is controlled by the Battery Energy Control Module (BECM) by the PHEV battery coolant pump. The PHEV battery heater only operates when the vehicle is plugged into an external charging point.
The PHEV battery heater has a 2 pin connector. The 2 pin connector has the following connections:
- A 12V supply from the Rear Junction Box (RJB) relay, controlled by the BECM.
- A ground connection.
