Emergency Park Release (G2320897): Adjustment

WARNING: Chock the wheels and make sure that all personnel are clear of the vehicle before carrying out the following procedure.
NOTE:
  • The ignition must be switched off.
  • This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending on the vehicle specification, but the essential information is always correct.
  • This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.
  • The selector lever should only be moved in the direction as shown.
  1. CAUTION: Do not force the operating lever as it causes damage to system.
    NOTE:
    • Use a suitable tool to move the operating lever as illustrated shown.
    • The information and message center display a "P" symbol to signify the Emergency Park Release (EPR) is returned to Park (P) position.

    Engage the park lock.

  2. Make sure that the operating lever and the gearshift mechanism are in the park (P) position before the ignition is turned on.
  3. Install the engine cover.
