Cooling System Draining And Vacuum Filling (G1590988): Draining
WARNING:
Injury such as scalding could be caused by escaping steam or coolant. Make sure the vehicle cooling system is cool prior to carrying out this procedure.
NOTE:

WARNING: Make sure to support the vehicle with axle stands.
Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.
- Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe T-Connector.
Refer to: AIR CLEANER OUTLET PIPE T-CONNECTOR
- Remove the engine undershield. Refer to: ENGINE UNDERSHIELD
- Remove the front right wheel arch liner.
Refer to: FENDER SPLASH SHIELD
- Remove the rear left wheel arch liner.
Refer to: REAR FENDER SPLASH SHIELD
Remove the slam panel trim.
Remove the cap from the coolant expansion tank.

CAUTION: Be prepared to collect escaping coolant.
Remove the radiator drain plug.

CAUTION: Be prepared to collect escaping coolant.
Disconnect the hose.

CAUTION: Be prepared to collect escaping coolant.
Remove the 2 hoses.

CAUTION: Be prepared to collect escaping coolant.
Remove the 2 hoses.
Install the radiator drain plug.
Torque : 3.5 Nm
Install the hose.
Install the 2 hoses.
Install the 2 hoses.
- Complete the procedure up to step 1 in the filling section three times, filling the cooling system with clean water at the first two drains. At the third refill, use a suitable measuring tool to make sure that the cooling system maintains a 50% mix.
