- Disconnect the rear driveshaft. Check rear driveshaft joints for grease leak, check joint plunge. Rectify as necessary
- Check the rear hub nut(s) for security. Rectify as necessary
- Check the rear halfshaft CV
boots for disconnection, damage and water ingress. Rectify as necessary
- Disconnect the rear halfshafts. Check the rear halfshaft outer CV
joints for lash in the spline and inspect the splines for wear or damage. Rectify as necessary
- Check the rear halfshaft inner CV
joint is fully located in the differential. Remove the halfshaft and check the inner CV
splines for wear or damage. Check the inner CV
joint retaining circlip for damage. Rectify as necessary
- With the rear driveshaft and rear halfshafts disconnected check the rear differential for excessive play. Rectify as necessary
- Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment run application Noise, vibration and harshness diagnostic test - Rear differential

joint not fully located, splined shaft worn or retaining circlip damaged
- Rear differential halfshaft oil seal(s) damaged or deteriorated

- Check the rear halfshaft inner CV
joint is fully located in the differential. Remove the halfshaft and check the inner CV
splines for wear or damage. Check the inner CV
joint retaining circlip for damage. Rectify as necessary
- Check the condition of the rear differential halfshaft oil seal(s). Rectify as necessary
