Pinpoint Test A: Brake Vacuum Pump Oil Leak Checks
- A1: BRAKE VACUUM PUMP OIL LEAK CHECK 1 NOTE: When installing new parts, always install the latest part number available.
- Thoroughly inspect the brake vacuum pump and surrounding area for oil leaks. Refer to the image and identify if area (A) and/or (B) show signs of oil leaks or oil staining
Is there evidence of an oil leak and/or staining contained within the red area (B) and no staining in the blue area (A)?
Yes: Remove the brake vacuum pump and install a new brake vacuum pump gasket only. Re-install the original brake vacuum pump using a Jaguar Land Rover approved sealant. REFER to: BRAKE VACUUM PUMP - TDV8 4.4L DIESEL Check and top up the engine oil as necessary. Perform a road test and check no oil leaks are evident
No: If there is evidence of an oil leak and/or staining in the blue area (A), install a new brake vacuum pump and gasket assembly using a Jaguar land Rover approved sealant. REFER to: BRAKE VACUUM PUMP - TDV8 4.4L DIESEL Check and top up the engine oil as necessary. Perform a road test and check no oil leaks are evident
