The following step(s) applies to:
All vehicles
- Remove the engine.
Refer to: ENGINE
Install the special tool.
Install the Special Tool(s): 303-1123
- Remove and discard the 8 drive plate bolts.
- Remove the drive plate.
Remove the special tool.
Remove the Special Tool(s): 303-1123
- Remove the 3 bolts.
- Remove the heatshield.
- Remove the 2 bolts.
- Remove the heatshield.
- Remove and discard the bolt.
- Remove and discard the 2 nuts.
- Remove and discard the 3 nuts.
- Remove the exhaust manifold crossover pipe.
- Remove and discard the 2 gaskets.
Remove and discard the 2 studs.
Remove and discard the 3 studs.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Release the 2 clips.
The following step(s) applies to:
1 high pressure EGR valve & 1 Low pressure EGR valve
- Remove the 3 bolts.
- Release the clip.
- Remove the pipe assembly.
The following step(s) applies to:
2 High pressure EGR valves
- Remove the 3 bolts.
- Release the clip.
- Remove the pipe assembly.
- Disconnect the vacuum hose.
- Release the 2 clips.
The following step(s) applies to:
All vehicles
- Disconnect the 2 electrical connectors.
- Release the 3 clips.
- Disconnect the vacuum hose.
- Remove the nut.
- Release the vacuum solenoid.
Disconnect the 2 vacuum hoses.
- Release the 2 clips.
- Disconnect the 2 electrical connectors.
- Remove the 2 bolts.
Remove the vacuum hose assembly.

NOTE: Repeat this step for the other side.
Remove the Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH) material.
The following step(s) applies to:
1 high pressure EGR valve & 1 Low pressure EGR valve
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Release the 2 hose clips.
- Remove the 2 bolts.
- Release the clip.
The following step(s) applies to:
2 High pressure EGR valves
- Remove the 3 bolts.
- Remove the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) outlet pipe.
- Remove and discard the gasket.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Release the 2 hose clips.
- Remove the bolt.
- Release the clip.
The following step(s) applies to:
All vehicles
- Release the hose clip.
- Remove the coolant hose.
- Remove the 3 bolts.
- Remove the bracket.
- Disconnect the 4 electrical connectors.
- Release the 3 clips.
The following step(s) applies to:
1 high pressure EGR valve & 1 Low pressure EGR valve
- Disconnect the 5 electrical connectors.
- Release the 4 clips.
The following step(s) applies to:
2 High pressure EGR valves
- Disconnect the 3 electrical connectors.
- Release the 3 clips.
The following step(s) applies to:
All vehicles
- Disconnect the 4 electrical connectors.
- Release the 3 clips.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Release the 2 clips.
- Disconnect the 2 electrical connectors.
- Release the 2 clips.
- Disconnect the 3 electrical connectors.
- Release the 5 clips.
- Disconnect the 2 electrical connectors.
- Release the 2 clips.
- Remove the bolt.
- Remove the nut.
Remove the engine wiring harness.

CAUTION: Be prepared to collect escaping oil.
- Disconnect the connector.
- Remove the 2 bolts.
- Remove the nut.
- Remove the oil extraction pipe.
- Remove the 5 bolts.
- Remove the EGR valve.
- Remove and discard the gasket.
- Remove the 2 bolts.
- Remove the heatshield.
- Remove the 4 bolts.
- Remove and discard the gasket.
- Remove and discard the sealing washers.
- Remove and discard the O-ring seal.
- Remove and discard the 6 nuts.
- Remove the 2 mounting bolts.
- Remove the exhaust manifold and turbocharger assembly.
- Remove and discard the gasket.
The following step(s) applies to:
1 high pressure EGR valve & 1 Low pressure EGR valve
- Remove the 3 bolts.
- Remove the EGR cooler.
- Remove the 3 bolts.
- Remove the heatshield.
The following step(s) applies to:
2 High pressure EGR valves
- Remove the 5 bolts.
- Remove the EGR valve.
- Remove and discard the gasket.
- Remove the 3 bolts.
- Remove the heatshield.
The following step(s) applies to:
All vehicles
- Release the electrical connector.
- Remove the 4 bolts.
- Remove the mounting bracket.
- Remove the 4 bolts.
- Remove and discard the 2 gaskets.
- Remove the bolt.
- Remove and discard the 2 sealing washers.
- Remove the 4 bolts.
- Remove and discard the 2 gaskets.
- Remove and discard the 6 nuts.
- Remove the exhaust manifold and turbocharger assembly.
- Remove and discard the gasket.
- Remove the 2 bolts.
- Remove the turbocharger coolant pipes.
- Remove and discard the gasket.

CAUTION: Be prepared to collect escaping oil.
- Remove the 4 bolts.
- Remove the oil pipe.
- Remove and discard the gasket.
- Remove and discard the O-ring.

CAUTION: Be prepared to collect escaping oil.
- Remove the bolt.
- Remove oil supply pipe.
- Remove and discard the sealing washers.
- Remove the 5 bolts.
- Remove the bracket.
- Remove the 2 bolts.
- Remove the bracket.

CAUTION: Be prepared to collect escaping fuel.
- Disconnect the 4 fuel line connectors.
- Release the 4 clips.

CAUTION: Be prepared to collect escaping fuel.
- Disconnect the fuel line connector.
- Release the 2 clips.
-
CAUTION: Be prepared to collect escaping fuel.
- Disconnect the 3 fuel line connectors.
- Release the clip.
Remove the fuel lines.

CAUTION: Be prepared to collect escaping fuel.
Remove the 2 bolts.

CAUTION: Be prepared to collect escaping fuel.
- Release the bracket bolt.
- Release the 7 fuel line unions.
- Remove and discard the 3 fuel lines.

CAUTION: Be prepared to collect escaping fuel.
- Release the 2 fuel line bracket bolts.
- Release the 7 fuel line unions.
- Remove and discard the 4 fuel lines.

CAUTION: Be prepared to collect escaping fuel.
- Release the 2 fuel line unions.
- Remove the 3 bolts.
- Remove the fuel rail assembly.
- Remove and discard the fuel line.

CAUTION: Be prepared to collect escaping fuel.
- Release the 2 fuel line unions.
- Remove the 2 bolts.
- Remove the fuel rail assembly.
- Remove and discard the fuel line.

NOTE: Repeat this step for the other side.
Remove the 6 bolts.

NOTE: Repeat this step for the remaining injectors.
- Install the special tools.
Install the Special Tool(s): 310-213 , 100-012
- Remove the injector assembly.
- Install the special tools.

NOTE: Repeat this step for the remaining injectors.
- Remove and discard the 2 O-ring seals.
- Remove and discard the sealing washer.
- Release the 2 clips.
- Remove the Rear End Accessory Drive (READ) cover.
-
CAUTION: Only rotate the crankshaft clockwise.
Rotate the crankshaft until the mark on the rear camshaft pulley is in the illustrated position.
Using a suitable cutting tool, remove and discard the READ belt.
- Remove the bolt.
- Remove and discard the READ belt tensioner.
- Remove the 2 bolts.
- Remove the cover.
- Remove the upper engine vent oil separator.
- Remove and discard the seals.
Remove the 3 bolts.
Remove the 2 bolts.
Remove the fuel pump assembly.
Install the special tool.
Install the Special Tool(s): JLR-303-1523
Torque : 10 Nm
- Install the special tool.
Install the Special Tool(s): JLR-303-1523
- Remove and discard the camshaft sprocket bolt.
- Install the special tool.
- Remove the special tool.
Remove the Special Tool(s): JLR-303-1523
Remove the camshaft pulley.
- Remove the 2 bolts.
- Remove the cover.
- Remove the 4 bolts.
- Remove the bracket and the lower engine vent oil separator.
- Remove and discard the seal.
- Remove the 3 bolts.
- Remove the bracket.
- Remove the 3 bolts.
- Remove the coolant pump.
- Remove and discard the O-ring seal.
- Remove the bolt cover.
- Remove the bolt.
- Remove the pulley.
- Remove and discard the 6 bolts.
- Remove the crankshaft damper pulley.
- Remove the 2 bolts.
- Remove the coolant inlet pipe.
- Remove and discard the O-ring seal.
- Remove the 4 bolts.
- Remove the coolant outlet assembly.
- Remove and discard the 2 seals.
Remove the cover.
- Remove the bolt.
- Remove the Crankshaft Position Sensor (CKP) sensor.

NOTE: Repeat this step for the other side.
Remove the NVH material.
Remove the 2 mountings.
- Remove the 2 nuts.
- Remove the bracket.

NOTE: Repeat this step for the other side.
- Remove the 2 bolts.
- Remove the bracket.
- Remove the 2 bolts.
- Remove the bracket.
- Remove the 2 mountings.
- Remove the 2 nuts.
- Remove the bracket.
